New Beat Manager and PCSO (Bathavon North)
After eight months as temporary beat manager, PC Paul Dear is returning to his police response team. A new beat manager, PC Simon Glanfield, has been appointed and is expected to be taking up his post in January 2008. Also a second PCSO is to be appointed to the beat to join PCSO Greg Doyle. He will be starting his training in the new year and is expected to be joining the beat by April. Crime figures show that since April 2008 reported crime on the beat has fallen by 23.9%. This compares to crime reduction figures of 11.98% for the Bath area and 10.85% across BANES as a whole. The appointment of a permanent beat manager and an additional PCSO will greatly improve the Beat Team's ability to continue to deliver a quality service to the residents of the beat.
