Planning Applications

Do I need planning permission?
This is a simple interactive guide to many common questions regarding planning permission from the governments planning portal.

From 2007 we no longer add the individual planning applications to this website due to the difficulties involved with keeping up to date.

The reference number link shown at the start of each application will take you to the full details held on the BANES Council Planning Website where you can view all documents associated with the application and submit comments to BANES. Details shown here are for information only and should be confirmed with BANES to ensure you have the latest information.

Please check the main planning website for further applications. Please be aware that the time scales for decisions are now very short so do not delay if you wish to comment.

Smart cameras to help Council understand and improve air quality

Smart cameras and equipment to count incoming traffic are to be deployed by Bath & North East Somerset Council at a range of locations including rush hour hotspots over the coming weeks.   The temporary measures, installation of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras and automated traffic count (ATC) equipment, are aimed at building up a better understanding of the sort of vehicles that journey into and out of Bath as proposals are developed to improve air quality along the A4 London to Bath road.   The Council has worked closely with the central government Joint Air Quality Unit (JAQU) on the nature and extent of the surveys which will run for two weeks from Friday with additional traffic counts being carried out to supplement the ANPR data.   Bath has been identified by the Government as an area where nitrogen dioxide levels are projected to exceed national air quality objectives beyond 2021.Work being undertaken by the Council will explore measures which will improve air quality.   The Council is preparing an initial action plan which will be finalised by March 2018 to be followed by a final draft before the end of next year. This strategy will build upon the wider Bath Air Quality Action Plan which is currently being consulted on.   Councillor Bob Goodman, (Conservative, Combe Down)

Potential Skate Park

Some younger parishioners with a passion for skateboarding gave a very good presentation to the Parish Council at the last meeting. We are currently investigating the possibility of locating one on the playing field, in the far corner away from properties. Funding will be the ultimate decider, if anybody has any views either way or is aware of funding opportunities please get in touch with the clerk; clerk@bathford.net
