Minutes of Council Meetings

Minutes and Agendas for parish council meetings can be accessed below in Adobe Acrobat format. To view the files, use Adobe Reader obtainable from the link at the bottom of the page.

Please note that we hope to post draft minutes as soon as possible after the meetings but they are only formally approved at the next council meeting and hence for completeness you should check any specific points in later minutes.

A paper copy of the minutes is also posted on the notice board in the Community Shop  and can also be viewed by contacting the clerk to the Council.

There are three formal types of meetings.

Full Council Meetings are the normal monthly council meetings.

Annual Parish Meetings are the yearly council meetings held in April which are usually held in the Parish Hall. These meetings are intended to briefly summarise the actions of the council for the previous year and to indicate the main intentions for the coming year.

Annual Parish Council Meetings are the yearly council meetings at which the councillors for the coming year are elected to the various positions and committees and is held in May immediately prior to the Full Council meeting.

Parish Council – Notice of Election

Elections for the Parish Council and BANES Ward Councillors will take place on 2nd May, the polling station is the Community Rooms on Mountain Wood as usual. An election at Parish level is dependant on more than 11 candidates standing for the Parish Council, otherwise it would not be contested with all nominated persons taking a seat. The Parish Council would like to thanks our Ward Councillors; Alison Millar, Geoff Ward and Martin Veal for all the work they done for the parish. Parish Council Election Notice

Message from Parish Hall Management Committee

Dear Parish Hall Users, If you live in the village you will know that the Parish Hall Committee are planning to replace the roof. The roof is approximately 100 years old and showing signs of deterioration, and also contains 5% Chrysotile asbestos. It was originally planned to carry out the work by a specialists Contractor during the summer school holidays, however, a large proportion of the funds raised ( 60,000 pounds) has to be paid before July, so the new start date was brought forward to cover the Easter Holiday (April 1 – 25). I understand today that the Contractor has requested an earlier start date of 25th March to erect scaffolding and completely tent the whole building. During the first week (25th – 29th March) the hall will be out of bounds during the day but can be used in the evening. Thereafter, nobody will be allowed to pass through the gate. Sincere apologies for the short notice and disruption caused. I am making inquiries with the RBL/Village Club, Mountain Wood Community Room (Polling Station) and the Church for possible alternative venues. Please contact me if you are interested.   M Wright Chairman Parish Hall Committee.
